Because plan information is pending CMS bid approval, these documents are available as download only. Also, keep in mind, plan design and service areas are pending government approval and are subject to change. The posted material is for producer use only and cannot be shared with the general public.

AHIP and Product Training

America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Certification, Medicare Advantage product training and Part D Prescription Drug Plans (PDP) product training is now available on SPA: www.mutualofomaha.com/broker

  • Medicare Advantage – The certification and training links will appear on the MA product page.  To access simply go to Products > Medicare Solutions > Medicare Advantage
  • Prescription Drug Plans – Both of the links appear on the PDP product page. Go to Products > Medicare Solutions > Prescription Drug Plans
  • Please note: If you are taking Medicare Advantage training for the Denver market, you will see a banner that advises you that the product is not available. This is because the new market is pending CMS approval of plan benefits. You can still take the training

Even better, your AHIP Certification results can now be submitted electronically to Mutual of Omaha. No need to fax or mail your certificate. If you have completed the assessment using another carrier, you can still have the results conveniently sent to us. Just navigate to the AHIP site using the link on SPA.  You will find instructions on how to transmit your results electronically. You will not have to pay or take the assessment again.

It’s time to get Ready to Sell for 2020 Medicare Products

Get Ready to Sell our Medicare Advantage and PDP products in just 3 easy steps!!  Start the process today.

  1. Contract to sell Mutual of Omaha’s Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans.
  2. Successfully complete the 2020 America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) annual certification course that meets the requirements established by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  3. Successfully complete the 2020      Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug training courses.  There is no cost to take the courses.

Re-contracting for Mutual of Omaha’s MA market expansion

If you are currently contracted for Medicare Advantage through Mutual of Omaha Medicare Advantage Company (MOMAC), a Medicare Advantage Insurance Company of Omaha (MAICO) Amendment will be required if you are planning to sell outside the current MOMAC markets. This new company is for Medicare Advantage plans rolling out this year in the following markets: Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth and El Paso.

And remember, to earn renewal compensation you will need to be Ready-to-Sell for the plan year compensation is to be paid.

Mutual of Omaha: Med Supp Broker Bonus Program

From July 1st through September 30th, you'll earn cash just for selling Mutual of Omaha's Medicare supplement products. All it takes is a minimum of five issued apps in a month to be eligible for the bonus that will pay for Plans F, G and N issued in the states listed in the official rules.

Here's what you can earn in most states:

  • $150 for each issued Underwritten policy
  • $30 for each issued Open Enrollment policy

Mutual of Omaha: 2019 High Deductible G Availability

It is never too early to start planning for your Medicare clients that will be ageing into Medicare beginning January 1, 2020. And with Mutual's policy that allow individuals aging-in to purchase a Medicare supplement six months prior to their effective date of coverage, you can begin selling to these individuals as early as July 1, 2019.

Medicare changes coming effect January 1, 2020 from the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) offers you the opportunity to provide your clients with a new Medicare supplement plan option.  That new option is a High Deductible Plan G and this plan will be available to any individual purchasing a Medicare supplement with an effective date of January 1, 2020 or later.

Effective July 1, 2019, Mutual of Omaha is pleased to announce the availability of a High Deductible Plan G for effective dates of January 1, 2020 or later in the following states:

Georgia

Michigan

Illinois

Rhode Island

Iowa

South Carolina

Kansas

South Dakota

Kentucky

 

Be assured we have filed the High Deductible Plan G in the other states and upon approval we will make it available to you for sale.

High Deductible Plan G*

  • Pays the same benefits as a Plan G once the annual plan deductible is met – 2019 annual deductible is $2,300
  • Does not cover the Part B deductible amount – 2019 Part B deductible is $185
  • Part B deductible counts toward the annual deductible amount

*Deductibles are subject to change January 1st each year.

Application Options:

e-App
As of July 1, the High Deductible Plan G will be available on the Medicare supplement e-App and to quote on the Mutual quoting app.

Paper
The application books with the outline of coverage that includes High Deductible Plan G rates are available to order TODAY through normal channels and can be viewed and downloaded on Sales Professional Access (SPA – www.mutualofomaha.com/broker) Forms and Materials.

For a limited time, you can earn marketing credits just for placing your dental insurance business with Mutual of Omaha.

You can earn the following credits for your issued dental applications for up to 600 total credits:

  • 30 credits for 1-2 issued dental apps
  • 60 credits for 3-4 issued dental apps
  • 90 credits for 5-6 issued dental apps
  • 150 credits for 7 or more issued apps

Each marketing credit gives you $1 to help build your Mutual of Omaha Medicare supplement business. Use your credits for things like:

  • Leads
  • Postage for mailings

CSG Actuarial, with information from the NAIC and other sources, reports total earned premiums in the Medicare Supplement market in 2018 totaled $32.4 billion, a 4.9% increase over 2017. The total Med Supp lives covered in 2018 increased to 14.05 million, up 3.9% from 2017. The top 12 carriers in terms of 2018 Medicare Supplement premiums were:

6 Cigna

8 BCBS of Massachusetts

The 2018 overall Med Supp market loss ratio of 79.0% reflects a continued trend in the market of the overall loss ratios creeping back up towards “Pre-Modernized” levels of around 80%.

The following is information regarding the payment of compensation for Mutual CareAdvantage (HMO) (MA) and Mutual of Omaha Rx (PDP) sales.

 
Medicare Advantage Compensation

  • Payment will be made beginning January 2019
  • Compensation Schedules – can be found on Sales Professional Access (SPA), click on the Profile icon in the upper righthand corner.  Choose Communications and filter on company – Mutual of Omaha Medicare Advantage Company and access your contract packet which includes your compensation schedule. 
  • Compensation Statements -  can be found on the Medicare Advantage producer portal by clicking on the ‘Commission’ icon. A link to the portal is found on the Medicare Advantage product page on Sales Professional Access (SPA) mutualofomaha.com/broker.  
  • For questions:
  • Click for details regarding MA compensation.

 Prescription Drug Plans Compensation

  • Payment will begin April 2019

Mutual of Omaha: Submitting and Tracking Your PDP Enrollments



Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) enrollments can be taken via e-App or paper. Below is important information on how to access, submit and track your PDP business.
 
ELECTRONIC ENROLLMENTS

Accessing
The PDP electronic enrollment can be found on Sales Professional Access (SPA- www.mutualofomaha.com/broker). On the left navigation bar under Sales Tools, click:
Electronic Applications – Prescription Drug Plans e-Application – Start or Continue e-App
 
Submitting
Electronic enrollments are submitted electronically at the completion of the application process.

Tracking
If you take an electronic enrollment (started or submitted), click the ‘View Dashboard’ button within the PDP e-app.
 
For CMS approved enrollments, there are two links available to access your report:

  • Click the link labeled ‘Prescription Drug Plan Approvals’ under the ‘Reports’ tab in Sales Professional Access (SPA), or 
  • Click the link ‘Approved Cases’ located on the ‘Electronic Applications’ page under the button to launch the PDP e-app.

 
PAPER APPLICATIONS

Ordering
A PDP enrollment packet can be order through regular channels by faxing the order form or calling Sales Support @ 800-693-6083.
 
Submitting
Completed paper enrollment forms can be submitted to Mutual of Omaha via fax or mail. The Scope of Appointment (SOA) should be retained by the agent and a copy must be submitted to Mutual either via Fax or email.
 
Enrollment Form

  • Fax to: 855-867-6711 (Preferred method of submission); or
  • Mail to: Mutual of Omaha Rx, PO Box 3625, Scranton, PA, 18505-9811

 Scope of Appointment

 All paper enrollment forms MUST be received by Mutual of Omaha Rx’s enrollment processor within 48 hours after the signed enrollment date.
 
Tracking
If you submit a paper enrollment, call 877-775-1360.
 
For CMS approved enrollments, there are two links available to access your report:

  • Click the link labeled ‘Prescription Drug Plan Approvals’ under the ‘Reports’ tab in Sales Professional Access (SPA), or 
  • Click the link ‘Approved Cases’ located on the ‘Electronic Applications’ page under the button to launch the PDP e-app.

Mutual of Omaha Rx (PDP) is a prescription drug plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in the Mutual of Omaha RX plan depends on the contract renewal.
